I would only understand from a previous perspective on "color" varieties why anyone would think I am slightly ridiculous and part crazy when it comes to "creating" another color. I myself, admit that I thought this was going to be a slice of cake, until I started understanding the genetic configuration I'm going to have to build and stabilize.
I'm currently looking for feedback on what my followers and readers would like to see and read as far as the future of this blog. I do plan on including many photos, as my rabbitry blog that rarely goes a posting without a picture. I, as a newbie to color manufacturing am going to have a lot to talk about, I know I have A LOT to learn.
I'm hoping this blog will encourage fellow rabbit enthusiasts to pursue colored rabbits in their breeds or making the color of their dreams. We all as humans in this life have to start from somewhere in any situation and build whatever that may be to make it better and what WE want. I'm ready to shed tears and sweat blood in this little project called HWC.
One of my favorite webpages is Phil Batey's Tan Miniature Lops. Not only does Phil have excellent outlook on colors is he makes them quite well. LOL! This page gives me huge positivity and hoping for many years to come in my own color project. :)
My whole invision to the future of this blog is more like a step by step tutorial of the process. Does that sound too intense? Considering the years I'm looking at putting into this. ;)
Hope everyone is having a good week and experiencing the joys of spring...
Susie Cederlof :)
p.s. How does everyone like the little grahpic above? I made it as a temporary for now. :)

I like the graphic a lot! It looks great.
ReplyDeleteSince I've worked with colors for years and know how challenging they can be, I am just interested in seeing how things go for you with this project. This is such a huge project and I don't think I'd have the patience to do magpies or harlequins (unless they were just hap-chances in a tri color program), but I find it fascinating. So, I'll enjoy learning along side you as you go through the steps of this. And give any advice I know from the years of working with colors.
I haven't worked with tri colors for about 5 years now, but will hopefully be doing a new color project soon :).
Phil's site is amazing! I've seen his site before and those tan lops are incredibly impressive.
Phil's website is the bomb and inspires me too. He is a very good breeder and judge. I like your new venture. At least something that will keep you working on this thing called RABBITs...
