We named her DTL's Simca.

As you can see, Simca has pretty decent type confirmation for a first generation Magpie. When we first picked up Simca, I thought she was just a Sable Point. After much examining, I flipped over both of her ears, low and behold... I found them different. This proved to me she was a Magpie. It's a learning experience!

This is a part of alternation we'll be seeing in the Harlequin colors and I'll be speaking a lot of. I'll save that for another post. :)

This is a photo of her back and the "bars" she has on her body. She only has a few and it's hard to tell with her faint color. However, according to the Harlequin breed Standard of Perfection, only 3 are required, but 5-7 are desirable.
Simca was sent to me bred. She has gave me one kit. Another nicely marked Sable Point Magpie, and a Tort Vienna Mark who passed away at 2 weeks old. He was also a max factor.
Through one breeding, I've learned some good information about the little bit that I have. I know that I'm going to want to tightly breed this line together and out crossing will be important, when it comes to the Max Factor gene, and also the Sable Pointing on my Magpies.
We will be attending the Red Bluff show this Saturday to pick up some new pieces for the project. I will go into further detail Sunday so be sure to stay tuned. :) A lot of planning and plotting here!
