New Additions

Hey all! :)
This was the blog that was supposed to be posted up SUNDAY... I was going to create it Saturday evening but with lack of sleep and an unexpected occurrence I didn't get to type it up. Sunday I just couldn't get out of bed. I'm feeling better now and here it is!

These are my new additions to the Color JW project. All are going to be used in purpose for the Harlequin color project. It may seem like a wide base of colors to start with but I have their full intentions planned out. :)

Right now, he is smack dab in the uglies but I think he shows great promise. He's going to be great to breed to a few does in the next couple months. He has a nice head and ear, with good shape, furring, texture, and placement. They are a tad long for my liking but are at 2 1/2" which isn't bad. The lack of wool cap doesn't help too much at the moment. He has a really nice short & round body. Good posture but a little longer in the fore limb. But that is me being REALLY picky. ;)

What an awesome little Chocolate doe to work with! Our main goal is to produce Chocolate Magpies. This doe will not only contribute good parts to my color project, but my main JW herd itself. She is one of the better Chocolates I've seen in my time and is very short and compact. Great bone with good color. Excellent density to her wool.

WWR Pure Morning - Chinchilla Senior Doe

Pure Morning has made her way back into her rabbitry for good intentions. Her color will hopefully correct the Sable factoring we have on our current Magpies. She is a breed doe but has pretty good type, and great coloring.

We will desperately need Orange in out Tri-Colors. Since we do not have an Orange JW's locally, our next best option was Netherland Dwarfs. I lucked out on coming across this Fawn doe on a ND breeder's web page. She is very cute and will be great for some F1 Wool Carrier babies. After that, she will be used in my (small) herd of Netherland Dwarfs. ;)

This is our (main) little base of rabbits for now in the JW Color project. I'm very anxious and excited to see how it will come along. Right now it really is a BLUR of what the future is going to hold with a lot of selective breeding & culling. Nonetheless I'm just thrilled! :)

Have a good week!
